#16: Luis Cocco and the HERO 200

Release Date:

Luis Cocco took on the 200 Mile right in the dojang of Hero Martial Arts running 9,696 laps (48.5 laps per Mile) on his 108.9167 foot course. He also raised money for ThumbsUp International in the process. This was his second attempt at completing the World Record for the Shortest Course Ever Utilized to Achieve the 200-mile Distance. Luis made 38,784 sharp 90-degree turns on his journey.
Last year his legs gave out at mile 64. But, as his young daughter said to him, ‘running ninjas never ever give up.’ Luis is the embodiment of fighting spirit. He fought through those 200 miles every step of the way. The 200 miler was timed by Mike Melton!
This run was in honor and support of ThumbsUp International which is Co-Chaired by the incredible Kerry Gruson & Caryn Vogel Lubetsky. Luis has known Caryn for a while and met Kerry when the two ran the Ride the Wave 50 Mile in September of 2020. They inspired Luis to stretch his own limits and raise funds for their nonprofit.
