The Difference Between a Compressor and a Limiter

Release Date:

Let’s get some clarity on Compressors and Limiters. Let’s learn how we can use them properly on our podcast mixes. Compression and Limiting are similar, only the settings are different. The Ratio and the Threshold will differ. On a vocal compression a common ratio is 3:1 (3 to 1), on a stereo limiter a common ratio is 20:1 (20 to 1). On a vocal compression the threshold will be set lower on the volume spectrum, whereas the threshold on a limiter will often be set right at the top of the volume spectrum. Check out our:Helpful Compression Video with Studio Steve’s Vocal Compression Settingshttps://youtu.be/0AZQnZnb7SMSuggestions for future episodes:Email me: studiosteve@podsoundschool.com Join us and become our next Patron!!!Overachievers Club at PatreonPodcasting For Bosses Facebook GroupYou TubeBlogInstagramTwitterSupport the Show.
