Genesis: The Terror of God - Genesis 35:1-15

In the mist of the trouble caused by Simeon and Levi, Israel is concerned about the people around him in the land coming against him and his house.  Father instructs Israel to go to Bethel where Israel initially met Elohim as he was running from his brother Esau.  Once again Israel’s fears were unfounded as the Bible says the terror of God was upon the cities and no one pursued Israel. While Israel was in Bethel, YeHoVaH appeared and reaffirmed to Israel his name change.  YeHoVaH begins to speak to Israel about his future and shared the plans He had for Israel and his posterity.
