Elizabeth Bathory, aka "The Blood Countess," is an enigmatic historical character from the 16th century cloaked in dark legend and infamy, whose life story is both intriguing and deeply disturbing. Bathory allegedly engaged in a series of truly heinous acts, including the torture and murder of 650 young girls whose blood she bathed in as part of her pursuit to attain eternal youth.  Bathory's alleged crimes were so horrific, that she is often referred to as "Blood Countess" and "Countess Dracula" due to their gruesome nature.  Elizabeth Bathory is one of the most prominent figures in the annals of true crime and folklore, and is widely regarded as the most prolific female serial killer in recorded history.
