Self-compassion is something that we are sometimes lacking - we can be our own harshest critic and allow that inner critic to create stress, and frustration within ourselves. Taking the time to acknowledge how compassion works and then turning it in upon ourselves is a beautifully healing exercise. We need to remember that we all have hard times, we none of us can be or get exactly what we want all of the time! I make no apology for using the Loving Kindness meditation technique - it is truly one of the most beautiful meditations. It is also infinitely variable so you can make it shorter or longer, and use phrases that feel more relevant to you in the moment.
