This week on The Build Show Podcast, Matt and his guest Curtis Lawson of Crafted Custom Homes go deep into construction consultation, business diversity, and how builders can get paid before a contract is even signed and a project starts.

"Crafted" is in Houston, Texas, and they do new home construction and renovations. Crafted isn't Curtis' only business. He also owns Shepherd Construction Advisors, an owner's representation and construction consultant company. They focus on how to help people get the results they want from an architect or builder. They also help to get troubled projects back on track.

Matt and Curtis talk about their experiences with owners' reps, discuss consulting and marketing their businesses, comment on their service agreements, and share their advice for younger builders who provide services for free.
