In this weeks episode with artist, writer, and lecturer,  Michael Carter, we dive deep into the esoteric history of modernism.  Together we have an incredible discussion about the nature of art and the role of the artist. We discuss his incredibly powerful artistic practice, along with his deep interest and study of Theosophy.  Together we unpack a lot of questions around why these ideas have been obscured for so long and how the re-emergence of them could play a huge role in the evolution of our culture.

Michael Carter is a Los Angeles-based artist, researcher, and educator working in painting and performance. His work is an investigation into metaphysical practices in art and the cultural histories of science, philosophy, and religion in modernity to the contemporary. Recent exhibitions include Rusha & Co. (Los Angeles), Nicodim Gallery (Los Angeles, Bucharest), JOAN (Los Angeles), and Hansell Galley of the Philosophical Research Society (Los Angeles).
