Pamela Cahanes, a recent Naval recruit graduate was discovered dead in Florida in 1984. Her case went cold for over 3 decades, but with the help of genetic genealogy, Pamela’s case was solved. 

When the perpetrator’s DNA was put into the National Database, it hit on another unsolved murder. That of Kathy Hicks in Hawaii. 

Perpetrator Thomas Garner, a Navy sailor at the time of Pamela and Kathy’s murder stood trial for both murders. But the results were vastly different.
