Release Date:

The 32nd episode of Dress Rehearsal on 107.3FM KBFG Seattle, welcomed Italian Fortepianist and Musicologist Costantino Mastroprimiano, who is one of the leading figures of the "historic performance". Mr. Mastroprimiano specializes in 18th- and 19th-century piano music, especially the works of Clementi, Dussek, Hummel, Cramer, Czerny, Kalkbrenner and Moscheles, which he revives through an attentive philological studying. Among his recordings is the award-winning cycle of Muzio Clementi’s complete sonatas. During the hour we will have the chance to speak to Constantino about a variety of subjects connected to performing on an historical instrument (the fortepiano) as well as what the differences are with how pianists perceive this type of music. We'll also listen to a few tracks of him playing works by Beethoven, Haydn and an exhilarating chamber transcription by Hummel of Mozart's Piano Concerto K466. Don't miss it!
