#18 - Interview w/ American Composer Elliott Miles McKinley

Release Date:

The 18th episode of "Dress Rehearsal" welcomes Composer Elliott Miles McKinley with whom we discuss about his life growing up with another composer in the house (his father, William Thomas McKinley, was also a fine composer). We'll also extensively speak about music education and how his mission to educate led him to found a yearly composition festival in the beautiful hills around the city of Alba in Northern Italy (The festival is due to start at the end of July 2021 after a year-long hiatus due to the pandemic. To know more about it please visit https://www.albacomposition.com/). We'll also listen to some of Elliott's compositions, "Ring of Fire" (2017) for clarinet, violin, cello, and piano, a fast-paced fugue from his "String Quartet n.7" (2013) ending with the melancholic "A Letter to Say I Love You, and Goodbye" (2010) for cello and piano. Don't miss it!
