Release Date:

Contributor(s): Dr Stephane Lacroix | Since the events of 9/11, Saudi Islamists have attracted considerable attention. However, given the opacity of the Saudi Kingdom, very little is known about them. Who are those activists who challenge in the name of Islam a regime whose claims to legitimacy are based on religion? Stephane Lacroix is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Sciences Po. In 2008-2009, he was a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University. His work focuses on Islam and politics in the contemporary Middle East, with a particular interest in the Gulf region.
