Celebrating Episode 200 In Kansas City With NLBM President, Bob Kendrick, Former MLB Player, Ed Hearn, and BBQ HOF Member, Ardie Davis
Episode 200 was not going to pass without us doing something special and so we took the show to Kansas City where baseball and barbecue are part of the city's foundation.  While there we had the pleasure of spending time with three previous guests.
Bob Kendrick is president of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, Missouri and was our very first podcast guest almost six years ago.  After his first appearance he joined us two more times and each discussion was even better than the one before.  This was our first time meeting in person and we were overjoyed to meet Bob as we greatly respect his talents as a baseball historian, phenomenal storyteller, and an incredible steward of the game.  We talked about his passion for the museum, the history it preserves, and the stories it tells.  Go to https://www.nlbm.com/ for more information on Bob and the museum.
Ed Hearn is a former Major League Baseball player.  He was part of the New York Mets 1986 World Series Championship and played briefly for the Kansas City Royals.  We had Ed on once before and Jeff proudly wore Ed's #49 at New York Mets Fantasy Camp.  Ed was extremely thoughtful to invite us into his home where we had the chance to try on his World Serious ring as well as see his other championship memorabilia.  We met his wife, Trisha and his dog, Hartley.  Ed recently received a new kidney and thankfully is feeling better.  It is very special the way that Jeff calls Ed #49 and Ed calls Jeff #49.
Ardie Davis was a guest once on the show, but meeting him in person was a huge thrill and he met us on a long line at Slap's BBQ.  Ardie is a 2016 Barbecue Hall of Fame inductee in the celebrity/humanitarian category.  Ardie is a founder of the American Royal Barbecue Sauce Contest which is the world's largest sauce contest.  He is a charter member of the KCBS, instrumental in the development of the Certified Barbecue Judge curriculum, and author of the oath recited by each judge prior to judging a contest.  We affectionately refer to him as barbecue royalty and you would be hard pressed to find anyone who would say otherwise.
The show is filled with congratulatory messages and then Jeff and Len reflect on what the podcast and achieving 200 episodes means to them.

We conclude the show with the song, Baseball Always Brings You Home from the musician, Dave Dresser and the poet, Shel Krakofsky.
We recommend you go to Baseball BBQ, https://baseballbbq.com for special grilling tools and accessories,  Magnechef https://magnechef.com/ for excellent and unique barbecue gloves, Cutting Edge Firewood High Quality Kiln Dried Firewood - Cutting Edge Firewood in Atlanta for high quality firewood and cooking wood, Mantis BBQ, https://mantisbbq.com/ to purchase their outstanding sauces with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the Kidney Project, and for exceptional sauces, Elda's Kitchen https://eldaskitchen.com/
We truly appreciate our listeners and hope that all of you are staying safe.
If you would like to contact the show, we would love to hear from you.
