Some narcissists will let you know what you are getting yourself into
"You knew what you were getting yourself into" is a phrase that some narcissists will use on you. They use this because some of them will let you know their problems upfront. They will tell you about their battles with law or drugs or alcohol or things like that. When the issues arise again they will let you know that they told you who they were upfront and say you should know what they are getting into.
