I sat down with Rachel Archambault, who is a speech-language pathologist and trauma educator. She started her Instagram account and consulting practice, The PTSD SLP, after experiencing a traumatic event at work. Previously, she was an SLP at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland Florida. On 2/14/18, a traumatic event happened at her workplace. This led her to look up resources for her students who had undergone trauma. She found trauma-informed care and has been presenting to SLPs and related fields ever since. Rachel created @PTSD.SLP to serve as a place where she could post resources, answer questions, and support SLPs using trauma-informed care.
