208) Turns Out Situlective Mutism Is Really Scary for Me to Experience

Release Date:

Just had therapy. I recorded this sitting in my car in the parking lot of Wegmans. It just dawned on me today, after therapy, that going mute is scary for me to experience. Like, I've always had extreme anxiety and fear around it, but never sat down and took a good look at wtf is this and wow I feel so scared when it occurs.
In this episode I talk about instances when I've experienced selective/situational mutism and that basically I was more focused on coping with it, hiding it from others, and the fear of how long will it be before my voice comes back, that I never looked into it any further than that. Hopefully that makes sense.
