1000+ game NHL centreman Laurie Boschman talks about his 30 years working with Hockey Ministries International, getting the call [on a rotary phone!] from Harold Ballard that the Maple Leafs had drafted him 9th overall in 1979, checking into his hotel behind Andre the Giant and worrying that HE was attending the same training camp, the surreal experience of his first Maple Leafs’ training camp with Sittler/Salming/McDonald/Palmateer/Tiger Williams, as a rookie learning from ‘that old fossil’ Leafs legend Ron Ellis, his coach Mike Nykoluk phoning his poor parents back home in Brandon MB to tell them that he had been BRAINWASHED, getting conscripted to play for the new Ottawa Senators expansion franchise [and being named their first-ever Captain], finishing his hockey career playing on ice meant for curling in the UK, and his thoughts on former agents Al Eagleson & Bill Watters!
