Difficult Discussions | How to be honest with kids about the hard stuff
There is some REALLY tough stuff going on in our world right now. And we're all trying to figure out how navigate tough conversations about it--internally, online, with friends and family. In this episode, we don't get into the nitty gritty of geopolitics. Instead, we try to broadly grapple with questions like:
How do we talk to kids about tragedies?
How much should I shield my kids from hard things to preserve their innocence?
What's the best way to break bad news to children--divorce, death of a grandparent, parent getting sick, etc...?
Is it ok for my kids to see me be sad?
As always, we finish with a generous dose of encouragement for parenting in this challenging time.
