Pascagoula, MS - We Cater a Wedding with Fried Pig Parts and Fish Bait

Release Date:

Welcome to Pascagoula, Mississippi, "Mississippi's Flagship City" and home of the craziest squirrel in the South!  The town takes it's name from the Native American tribe who inhabited the area when Hernando de Soto explored the area in the 1540s.  After Europeans arrived the area changed hands many times between the Spanish, French, and English and was ultimately claimed by the United States as part of the Mississippi Territory in 1812.  The town was incorporated in 1892.  The town is home to the Old Spanish Fort, the oldest building in the Mississippi Valley.  The building was constructed in the 1750s and is now home to a museum celebrating the history of the area.  Pascagoula is located on the Gulf Coast and is part of the Mississippi Delta.  Residents and visitors can enjoy numerous water activities throughout the year.  Jimmy Buffet was born in Pascagoula on Christmas Day in 1946 but moved shortly after (we are sure he would have stayed given the choice).  Channing Tatum is also from the Pascagoula area.  Perhaps it's most famous resident (according to Keith) is the famous squirrel who went berserk in the famous song by Ray Stevens, The Mississippi Squirrel Revival.  We hope you enjoy our visit to Pascagoula!Small Town News--whose headline is it, anyway? @SmallTownNewsImprov
