Whew!... the microphones are still smoking after this one! Sometimes some things just go to the breaking point in an age where cynicism, political correctness and fear to speak your opinions overshadow the true essence of the simple beauty and joy of fly fishing for trout and salmon. Hallowed Waters host Matthew Supinski and guest Kirk Deeter: book author and editor of Trout Unlimited’s TROUT Magazine, are not afraid to push the needle and speak the reality of these issues that now, unfortunately, spill into the quiet and soothing sport of fly fishing.  Bottom line: when is enough is enough, and where do you fit in? They discuss all the controversial elements that we now bring to the trout, salmon, and steelhead rivers. Elitism, vanity, and fish pictures/hero shots, obsessions with social media, the influx of river guides and who and what they are, the numbers game: bigger, better, faster, more now! Euro/competitive fishing, respecting home waters vs. destinations, marginal trout streams and rethinking our established paradigms, disruptive individuals and their contributions to making a difference, paying your dues as an angler, books and their importance, laws, and regulations to micro-manage each river system as riverkeepers, searching for Utopia, climate change, indigenous species nativism and which fish belong or don’t belong, foraging for food by a stream, love of brown trout and all wild trout and salmon that still luckily swim…All this in the quest to make you rethink your game and be all about the fish!
