Brook had a normal pregnancy up until about 19 weeks when she was admitted to the hospital. Her team discovered that she was severely preeclamptic and developed HELLP syndrome. HELLP Syndrome is a life-threatening pregnancy complication usually considered to be a variant of preeclampsia.
