Not because you are Captain Altruistic, but because you are human and selfishly this is what we most want. We want to matter to others. If you study the rich and famous, you’ll generally find them at two ends of the spectrum later in life. They are miserable and their lives are a shambles. A good number of them take their own lives or end up with lives that are nothing but pain and despair. Or, they are trying to use their resources to do something meaningful. They don’t want to be commemorated for being the most famous person ever or the richest. They want to have meaning. We all do. This is what fulfills us. And, we need to make a living. So how can we make a difference and get paid for it? That’s the show.
