When Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt was voted into office back in 2020, he won in a landslide. He campaigned on a progressive platform, including calling for police accountability and support for Measure 110. But now, running for reelection, he has walked back his advocacy for key parts of drug decriminalization. So today on City Cast Portland, DA Mike Schmidt is joining us for an honest conversation on what got him to change his mind on Measure 110 and the extent of his office’s responsibility for addressing crime in our county.
