Generational Curses

Exodus 20:5 reads, “You shall not bow down to them or worship them;
for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for
the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who
hate me.”[2]
Some Christians believe that generational curses are punishment for
particular sins, like idolatry, adultery, or other trespasses.
Some also say that there are two primary kinds of curses: those that
are passed down from a previous generation, and new curses inflicted by
a current generation.
