There was once a time where the Patriots were strapped for cap space. That time is no longer.
After signing Cam Newton last week, grievances from both Aaron Hernandez and Antonion Brown were resolved, freeing up $7 million on the payroll. If the new quarterback reaches all the incentives in his contract they'll need the majority of it, however, that is a future worry.
