Boomer & Gio Podcast (WHOLE SHOW)

Release Date:

Hour 1
The Yankees just keep rolling and Gio said Brandon Tierney is ‘taking the L on this one’ as Giancarlo Stanton continues to play well. Gio said it’s too early to tell on Stanton and we’ll see how the rest of the season goes. BT asked Boomer to put some lefty golf clubs together as he’s trying to switch from righty to lefty golf due to back issues. Gio can’t believe people are all in on Stanton after only 2 months. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the Yankees beating the Royals again including a 3-run HR by Jose Trevino. The Yanks scored 6 in the first. The Mets beat the Marlins as we heard Howie Rose on the call as Harrison Bader homered. The Celtics beat the Mavericks again and take a commanding 3-0 series lead. Luka Doncic was criticized for his lack of defense and effort. Rob Saleh met the media and said he and Rodgers are on ‘the exact same page’. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer noticed all of the charges on his phone bill for a landline he has.
Hour 2
The Patriots honored Tom Brady on the same night as a Celtics home finals game. He was inducted into the Patriots hall of fame and had his number retired. Jay-Z and Kenny Chesney performed as well. Boomer wonders if the Patriots will do the same for Bill Belichick if he doesn’t take another coaching job. Jerry returns for an update but first Gio told us his daughter’s school did a whole big graduation ceremony for kindergarten. Jerry starts with sounds from Tom Brady’s Patriots hall of fame ceremony. We heard from Bill Belichick. The Yankees beat the Royals again as Gleybor Torres had a homer. Adam Schein talked about Aaron Judge’s season so far and said, ‘this cat is on fire’. The Mets beat the Marlins and will go for the series win tonight. The Celtics beat the Mavericks again and are up 3-0. Luka Doncic fouled out and was criticized for that. Kendrick Perkins was very critical of Doncic after the game. In the final segment of the hour, there’s a new Hollywood trend concerning men: ‘hot, rodent men’. These are men that look like rats.
Hour 3
Gio said there is nothing about the Boston Celtics that looks that dominant, despite them sweeping the conference finals and likely sweeping the actual finals. He doesn’t think this is a dynasty that’s going to win multiple championships. We talked about LeBron to the Knicks. Boomer doesn’t want to see it, while Gio doesn’t hate the idea. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Yankees beating the Royals as Giancarlo Stanton ‘defaced’ the ball. Jerry has audio of Mike Francesa from 2017 arguing with a caller about Mickey Mantle, Aaron Judge and the triple crown. The Celtics are now up 3-0 after last night’s win against the Mavericks. Luka Doncic was criticized by many including Brian Windhorst. In the final segment of the hour, Joey Chestnut and Kobayashi are going to have a hot dog eating contest live on Netflix on Labor Day. Boomer said it should have been the halftime show of the NFL game on Netflix. Paige Spiranac videoed herself eating 6 hotdogs in 10 minutes.
Hour 4
Author Hughes Norton joins us in the studio to talk about his book, ‘Rainmaker’. Hughes was Tiger Woods’ first agent so we talked a lot about Tiger Woods. He still doesn’t know why Tiger fired him. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with the US Open as it’s going on right now. The Yankees beat the Royals again. The Moment of The Day involves Adam Schein’s excitement for Aaron Judge and Gio’s impression. In the final segment of the show, Boomer is having trouble trying to pay a ticket online. We also talked about getting tickets for going through a yellow/red light.
