The four on board were fishermen from Papua New Guinea. As there were no local rescue ships available, the team decided to lift the boat aboard the icebreaker and take it to designated waters. After 33 hours, the stranded fishing boat and its crew were brought to a rendezvous【会合】 point safely and handed over to a waiting local vessel on Saturday. China's 40th Antarctic expedition team set sail from Shanghai on November 1st, starting a mission expected to last over five months.
