Healthy Eating For Busy Women

Kat Rentas

From Student To Expert

To become a naturally healthy eater, you will need to shift from student to expert energy. Student energy is depending on someone (or something) outside of yourself. Expert energy is knowing you have everything you need within yourself. In my practice, my clients learn how to move into expert energy to create permanent control with food. When they do so, they’re no longer waiting for someone to save them from their food struggles. There’s no more hand-holding. They learn to show up, take action, learn from their setbacks, and move forward. This is what makes the results with food you want inevitable. And, it’s what creates unshakeable trust within yourself. Because learning to eat healthy from expert energy teaches you that you are the one who creates your results. In this episode, I’m clarifying the difference between student and expert energy, along with how you can move into expert energy to create long-term changes with food. It doesn’t matter if y

Brain-Body Parenting: How to Stop Managing Behavior & Start Raising Joyful, Resilient Kids, with Dr. Mona Delahooke

Dr. Mona Delahooke, clinical psychologist and author of Brain-Body Parenting: How to Stop Managing Behavior and Start Raising Joyful, Resilient Kids, is on for a deeper dive into the parenting conversation. The entire parenting system is focused on behavior and compliance, but is it actually working for our kids? Many behaviors are subconscious, so how do we engage a new way forward with “brain body parenting” to help our kids make good choices and consider the future impact of those choices? Dr. Delahooke teaches us to do that by focusing on what is causing our kids’ behavior rather than the behavior itself, setting good boundaries, setting examples, and being empathetic. Guest Links:Website: http://monadelahooke.comIG: https://www.instagram.com/monadelahooke/Twitter: https://twitter.com/

It might sound a little weird to consider stop being nice. Being overly nice or accomodating or trying to please people can result in not caring for your own needs or boundaries. 45: Athlete Nutrition Profile - Ultrarunner Veronica Leeds

Welcome to Episode 45 of the Eat for Endurance Podcast, featuring ultrarunner, mother, and former private nutrition client of mine, Veronica Leeds. I first met Veronica when she reached out to me back in 2018 when she was relatively new to the sport of ultra running and was seeking help with her everyday and performance nutrition. She had a young son and had started running as a way to literally escape the challenges of motherhood (ahem, I think I can relate to that one!!!). We worked on healing and strengthening her relationship with food and body, while helping her become a more competitive, resilient athlete. After about four months of working together, she was ready to continue on her journey on her own. Fast forward to August 2021, when I was browsing Instagram and her smiling face came across my feed in an article for Ultra Running Magazine about her recent training and attempt to win Eastern States 100 miler.

Human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) are the third most abundant component of human breast milk, and scientific research is slowly recognising their importance in infant health and development. Tune in to this fascinating chat with Professor Lars Bode to learn about the potential health benefits of HMOs and how and why their composition varies between women across the globe. Professor Bode also dives into the possible applications of synthetic versions of HMOs for pre-term infants and touches on future research priorities in non-maternal populations, including those with rheumatoid arthritis and cardiovascular disease.   For the shownotes: https://dietitianconnection.com/category/podcasts/ This podcast is not, and is not intended to be, medical advice, which should be tailored to your individual circumstances. Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is one of the most common gastrointestinal complaints. With no one single identified trigger or treatment, IBS can be a minefield for a person to try and get on top of.

#60 - Laurent Delaunay - Maison Edouard Delaunay

Psoriasis and COVID - Can you help?

Can you help answer the BIG questions? (spoiler: the answer is yes) ..... and you can do this from your sofa. Minimal effort required. So how do you help transform the world for people living with psoriasis in these very uncertain COVID-Y times? The easiest thing to do is help Prof. Catherine Smith and Dr. Satveer Mahil by answering a questionnaire. What!? I hear you - it sounds too easy right? Well this is the deal. They are trying to answer this huge question- How does COVID affect people with psoriasis? The problem is that the information they have so far is skewed. They see patients in their clinic... but that's it. They don't know you, and until I filled out their survey, they didn't know me either. It's impossible to answer big questions without big data. That means psoriasis stuff about you, and your kids (if they have psoriasis) and your nan (if she has psoriasis too) is hidden to researchers because these members of your family ar

Grocery Budget, Part 2 - Reframing How You Think About Food Costs Rising l EP#117

In part two of this series on grocery budget, Prep Dish founder Allison Schaaf talks about how to reframe how you think about food costs rising. While rising food costs are concerning for many, it helps to remember your why for buying high quality food. Health, enjoyment, family time - whatever your reason, keep it in mind. Buying high quality food is an investment in your health. Health conditions can be very costly so if you can take steps today to help avoid future health problems, it is a worthwhile investment. There are ways to keep costs down without skimping on quality. Using everything you purchase and not being wasteful with the food you purchase are excellent steps to take. Processed foods, restaurant meals, and even meal kits have to take costs into account which means they’re going to fill those meals with cheaper foods. At home, you can choose to have a vegetable-heavy plate. That

Dr. Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz: Choosing to Advocate for Women’s Health

Dr Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz is a self-professed hard-core science nerd with a deep respect for the holistic approach to health and life. She boasts degrees from Southern California School of Medicine and California College of Ayurveda, and she also completed a residency at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. She credits her being able to integrate ancient healing traditions into her practice and that has allowed her to go deeper into the study of health and healing. As more natural solutions, medicines, and technologies emerge in the global marketplace, Dr. Suzanne finds herself referring back to Ayurveda, which she calls the original lifestyle medicine.

The Plant Centered and Thriving Podcast: Plant-Based Inspiration

Ashley Kitchens: Plant-Based Registered Dietitian and Virtual Nutrition Mentor

Plant-Based FAQs: What does "listen to your body" actually mean?

This phrase is thrown around so much in the wellness industry. I really wanted to devote an episode to discuss what this phrase ACTUALLY means and why it is such an important part of your intuitive eating practice. Katie and I have a great conversation outlining how to start taking steps to get in touch with your body, to slow down, to tune out the noise. It starts with asking questions like "how am I feeling?" and "how hungry am I?" and "how full am I?" I hope this episode gives you the blueprint to begin your intuitive eating practice. How can I work with Plant Centered Nutrition? One on One Coaching"Positively Plant-Based": the Online CourseIf you want to connect with Ashley, visit the following:Instagram: @plantcenterednutritionWebsite: plantcenterednutrition.usFacebook: Plant Centered NutritionIf you want to connect with Katie, visit the following: Instagr
