平安の末、天子様が重い不思議な病にかかりました。
夜中すぎ、天子の護身所である紫宸殿の屋根の上になんとも知しれない気味の悪い声で鳴なくものがあります。その声をお聞きになると、天子はひきつけを起こし、もうそれからは一晩中、熱が出て、おやすみになることができなくなりました。そういうことが三日四日と続き、やがて天子はお食事も取れなくなってしまいました。
それは毎晩、東の空から黒雲が湧き、屋根の上に不思議な化け物がお屋敷の上に来るからだとわかりました。
化け物を退治しようと話し合いが行われ、その人を担うは源頼政以外になかろうと決まりました。
At the end of the Heian period (794-1185), the heavenly son of God became seriously and mysteriously ill.
After midnight, there was a strange and mysterious cry on the roof of Shikikinden, the heavenly son's guardianship hall. Upon hearing the voice, the heavenly son developed a seizure and was unable to sleep for the rest of the night due to a fever. This continued for three or four days, and eventually he was unable to eat.
It turned out that this was because black clouds were rising from the eastern sky every night, and a mysterious monster was coming over the roof of the mansion.
A meeting was held to exterminate the monster, and it was decided that the person who would take charge would be none other than Minamoto no Yorimasa.
