白宫发言人把“拜登”说成“奥巴马”！美媒用“弗洛伊德”暗示她…

主播：Selah | 翩翩 歌曲 ：We’ll Be Stars最近，白宫新闻发言人Karine Jean-Pierre卡琳·让-皮埃尔犯了一个口误，让全场记者惊掉大牙。•   白宫新闻发言人：White House Press secretary•   press：媒体•   secretary：秘书众所周知，白宫新闻发言人，属于senior official 高级官员，基本职责（primary responsibility）是给美国政府做spokesperson（发言人）。他们向媒体通报总统、高级行政官员和政府政策的最新情况。•   brief the media  向媒体通报•   senior executives  高级行政官员•   policy  政策最近，美国这位白宫发言人上新闻了，因为一个很搞笑的原因（she has been in the news for a hilarious reason）:她在做press briefing时，口误了（she slipped up），将“拜登”说成了“奥巴马”(sheaccidentally referred to President Biden as "President Obama.")，引发台下记者哄堂大笑。•   口误了：she slipped up•   press briefing：新闻发布会•   意外地：accidentally咱们来还原一下她当时的话："So today, as you all saw just an hour or so ago, President Obama announced that—Pardon me, President Biden!" （所以今天，正如你们在大约一个小时前看到的，奥巴马总统宣布，——Pardon me对不起，是拜登总统！）然后，记者什么反应？The reporters shouted surprise.记者们惊叫起来。然后她怎么化解尴尬的呢？"Whoa! Ahem, that is news.”她很聪明，先是像说唱歌手那样喊了句 Whoa 表达惊讶，然后说Ahem。（Ahem相当于清了清嗓子，跟Whoa固定搭配在一起，表示我要重新说了）然后，她说： that is news（要上新闻了哎）。不过话又说回来了，这么重要的场合，她为什么会口误说成奥巴马呢？这得从她的履历说起。Karine Jean-Pierre 是在纽约市长大的海地裔美国人，纽约理工读的本科，哥伦比亚大学读的硕士。其实她曾在2008年的奥巴马竞选中担任东南部的政治总监。She actually helped Barack Obama during his 2008 campaign as the southeast political director. 所以，奥巴马其实是她的旧主。这样一来，她这个口误，也算说得过去。It makes sense she could make this honest mistake.这事一出，美国媒体纷纷报道，他们都用了什么词来形容这个口误呢？1.  Honest mistake无心之失An honest mistake is a mistake you made accidentally, and not on purpose.honest mistake 是指不小心犯的错误，不是故意的。尽管是an honest mistake, 但是她应该觉得够尴尬的，因为 she was on the world’s biggest stage.但她的honest mistake，同时还被美国媒体用另一个词来形容：Freudian slip。2.Freudian slip弗洛伊德式的失误She had a ‘Freudian slip’.这个Freudian slip在西方语境里，还蛮常见的。slip 就是滑倒，表示口误就是嘴瓢了。Freudian就是弗洛伊德式的。Freudian slipis something you say by mistake, but which is believed to show your true thoughts.Freudian slip就是无意中泄露真实思想的漏嘴和失言。Freud：弗洛伊德，大名鼎鼎的 psychologist（心理学家），他的潜意识理论非常有影响力。就好像英语中，大家都说 you are more honest when you are drunk. 人喝醉了更诚实。英语中，也有俗话“酒后吐真言”：A drunk mind speaks a sober heart.•   drunk: 醉酒的  •   sober: 清醒的美国媒体用Freudian slip来描述卡琳的口误，其实也是暗示她怀念旧主，表示她这个口误实际上是把她心里话说出来了（不知道是不是过度解读），总之，美媒也是看热闹不嫌事大。那口误除了honest mistake（无心之失），Freudian slip（嘴瓢说了大实话），还有一种是单纯的口误： slip of the tongue。3. Slip of the tongue口误了，嘴瓢了Slip of the tongue 单纯指口误，而且可以用作复数，比如，拜登就经常因为slip of the tongue而上新闻。可以说：President Biden has had many slips of the tongue.年纪大了，难免有说不着的时候，会有很多的slips of the tongue, 比如:He called his Vide President Kamala Harris “first lady.” 他竟把副总统卡玛拉叫成了“第一夫人”！不知道拜登太太怎么想….再比如，Selah说：Sometimes, my mom will call me my sisters name.我妈叫我叫成我妹的名字，这也是a ‘slip of the tongue’。最后，咱们说到卡琳·让-皮埃尔用“Whoa, Ahem that is news!” to laugh at the situation（来解嘲），而且，在此之前，她说：‘pardon me’来道歉。Pardon me 有两个用法：1.  致歉相当于please forgive me，或者I beg your pardon.比如：“Pardon me, you cannot bring this dog inside the restaurant.”对不起，不能带狗进餐厅。2. “你说什么？”Pardon me 还可以用来ask someone to repeat themselves（让对方再说一遍），也可以简略为pardon?当然，还可以用来表示震惊，比如：—“I think Susan is pregnant”苏珊怀孕了。—  “Pardon me?” 纳尼？！This shows you are surprised by the situation.关于这期节目，你有什么想分享的吗？欢迎留言告诉我们。另外，一席文化在招聘英文人才，工作地点在青岛。快加入我们吧！和主播们一起教英文、录节目。未来的小伙伴，快回归组织！联系我们：15376722474（微信同号）
