“Pendente” è l’aggettivo più idoneo per descrivere il modo in cui mi sento nei confronti della vita. Non una sensazione sempre piacevole ma neanche così male, in fondo. Ecco perché ho deciso di chiamare così il mio “taccuino” personale in cui annotare le giornate trascorse a contatto con opere ed esperienze vissute indipendentemente, comprendendo nuove realtà e magari crescendo come persona. Liberamente ispirati a questo lavoro, i cinque episodi del podcast “Madri Costituenti in Voce” sono brevi interviste – create su materiale storico documentato - con 5 delle donne che hanno scritto la Costituzione italiana: Teresa Mattei, Maria Federici, Lina Merlin, Teresa Noce, Nilde Iotti. Sergej Rachmaninov è senza dubbio un autore molto noto e amato dal grande pubblico. Ma, a ben vedere, la sua fama – almeno nel nostro paese – è legata soprattutto alle opere che hanno per protagonista il pianoforte, sia da solo che con orchestra. È noto infatti che Rachmaninoff è stato uno dei maggiori pianisti – per qualcuno il più grande – del primo Novecento. Della sua arte interpretativa ci resta oggi una significativa testimonianza discografica. Ma, senza nulla togliere ai suoi capolavori destinati al pianoforte, la sua personalità di musicista risulta decisamente più ampia, complessa e completa. Sono infatti molti i generi nei quali ha dato prova di una straordinaria maestria e personalità creativa. La sua produzione comprende musica sinfonica (dove spiccano le tre Sinfonie, L’isola dei morti e le Danze sinfoniche), sinfonico-corale (Le campane) e cameristica (il Trio elegiaco e la Sonata per violoncello). Si passa dal teatro musicale (con tre opere, Aleko, Francesca da Rimini e Il cavaliere avaro) alla musica vocale da camera (con un buon centinaio di raffinatissime melodie). Per non dire dei due lavori corali direttamente legati al canto liturgico ortodosso, la Liturgia di S.Giovanni Grisostomo e i Salmi. Nei primi venticinque anni della sua vita Rachmaninov è in primo luogo un compositore. Nei successivi venticinque, dopo la definitiva e dolorosissima fuga dalla Russia in seguito alla Rivoluzione d’Ottobre, prevarrà invece – anche per questioni economiche – l’attività di pianista. Questa, in cui ottenne ovunque un incondizionato successo, limitò l’attività creativa a non più di cinque – sia pur importanti – composizioni. Arthur Mendoza was the principal acting instructor for the Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting West. He has taught in Los Angeles for more than 20 years and has worked with such talents as Khandi Alexander, Sasha Barrese, Peta Wilson, Finola Hughes, Branford Marsalis, Deidre Hall, John Jopson, and Salma Hayek, and he worked extensively with Benicio del Toro after he won a scholarship to the Conservatory. He has performed in more than 124 plays and worked on television and in film, including episodes of Falcon Crest and Our House and the film Deep Cover. Arthur is the founder, artistic director and principal acting instructor at the Actors Circle Theatre in Los Angeles, California. He has directed productions at the Actors Circle Theatre, including The Glass Menagerie, 7 Women, A Director & a Tape Recorder and three seasons of ACTtheREP (A program of repertory theatre, holding productions of published and original plays yearly. This program was established for actors exemplifying outstanding talent and work ethic in the Advanced Scene Study class). Arthur earned his B.A. from University of California, Riverside, and an MFA from University of California, San Diego. He studied with Stella Adler for 10 years before becoming the founding principal instructor at her studio in Hollywood. Currently, Mendoza coaches at the Santa Monica Playhouse, continuing his and Stella Adler's legacy of the Stanislavsky Method, finding an indirect pathway to emotional expression via physical action.
