In this episode Andrew goes on a journey into the life of an incredibly accomplished Muay Thai fighter. Sean Douglas was one of the original founders of Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket, and has dedicated his life to exploring Martial arts.Sean was always interested in Martial arts from a very young age. His Father was a boxer and when he joined the USA Marine Corp he really started to dive deep into the development of his skills and philosophies around Martial Arts. As a marine he would travel off base and train with his “old school” coach and mentor Tommy Mosman. He shares his experiences in fighting in match ups organised by Tommy and the many fight nights his coach would put them in at any time.He then moved to California where he learned the skills on how to optimise and train his physical body to be a fighter while training out of Actor & Martial Artist, Cung Le’s gym called ‘Cung Le Sanshou’ (Cung Le fought in Strikeforce attained middle weight champion, K-1 + had four fights in the UFC competing against UFC legends such as Rich Franklin and Michael Bisping). Sean continued to compete regularly in many quality fight cards and became a highly ranked fighter in the US.He then moved to Thailand and lived and trained with the best fighters of that country with his Thai coach Ta lumsai Detcha in Bangkok, inspired by his all time favourite fighter Samartpayakaroon.He trained with many of the Golden era fighters of Muay Thai and competed in the tough lightweight division. Sean fought at Lumpini Stadium in 2004 and also became the KOTC champion in Singapore in 2005.Andrew goes on a journey with Sean into the life of a Muay Thai fighter in Thailand, the philosophies, and challenges faced.
