Eeeh kind of cute, kind of boring

I was expecting this to be a cute and funny movie, but it was just kind of boring. At points it felt like they were talking in slow motion, but the ending was decent and the cinematography was good as was the acting!

Loved this movie!

Warning: if your ideas about what is sexually appropriate and acceptable are conservative, and driven by religious dogma, you probably won't like this movie. You might even be offended by it. But if you like satires that expose the hypocrisy of religious sexual mores (in a humorous way), you might just enjoy the movie. You might even find it funny. I laughed out loud several times watching this film, and I'm looking forward to seeing it again. Stranger Things' Natalia Dyer was awesome as a young girl trying to make sense of what she's being taught at a Catholic school about sex, versus what she's observing and feeling. Her performance drove and elevated the story. She's gifted with the ability to communicate emotions and ideas with facial expressions alone, and I can't imagine anyone else in the role she played. She should get an award for her performance, IMO.

Accurate

I went to a catholic school and went on Kairos retreat and this movie is so accurate. I was laughing so hard at the high school drama that characterized my own high school years.

Kyrie Eleison by Invocation

Above all, this is quite the daring movie. It is hard to categorize and it's hard to review. Any attempt to do so will offend some but not everyone - at least, those with a keen eye for mood and feeling and the uneasy sense that I once was a pre-pubesent teenager just like her. You can't judge the intent of the sexual awakeing that our lead experiences. It's a common thread through all of humanity - we are sexual beings, whether you have seen porn or a "dirty magazine" or you live in sub-Saharan Africa without access to such vices. We all can identify - well, females at least, but it's all getting to the same point: We are mixed up, confused, burgeoning primal humans with an urge to discover sexuality in one's own sense of the word. The direction and writing of the film is sure - even if you don't agree with it. It is funny and uncomfortable and hilarious and vicious without too much patronizing. I really liked the lead played by Natalia __ (something). Her face speaks words and feelings that cannot be verbally expressed. It is a roller coaster of feelings and we are on for the ride, whether you like it or not, deep down you know you can identify with at least one or two of the characters in this film. Its' humanistic and carnal urges will leave you with indelible reactions - enlightening or patronizing - to the universal reality that sex drives a lot of our decisions.

Great hilarious film

Amazing film that has great humor and is a light hearted indie flick. People upset because it doesn’t praise religion should really pay attention to the film
