Transformers: Dark of the Moon
A mysterious event from Earth's past threatens to ignite a war so big that the Transformers alone will not be able to save the planet. I sorta feel a tiny bit guilty for saying this, but I actually kinda loved "Transformers: Dark of the Moon". I know, I know...you can all argue that there was little to no comprehensible storyline and that the dialogue was a complete and utter mess, but there's a reason why I gave this movie four out of five stars: I enjoy just about anything that has to do with big robots and even bigger explosions! At a whopping 2 1/2 hours, "Transformers 3" was far from disappointing. Not only did Michael Bay pack in more colossal and superbly-executed action sequences than ever before, but he managed to replace Megan Fox's character with arguably the hottest model-turned-actress ever to grace the big screen, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. In addition, the visuals were incredible to look at and the score was spectacularly epic. Okay, so it might not have been the smartest or most well-written blockbuster of the summer, but "Transformers 3" was still a mind-bogglingly intense thrill ride of a film that kept my heart pounding out of my chest well after it was over. Don't listen to Rotten Tomatoes this time, guys. If you haven't seen this awesomely monumental movie yet, you seriously don't know what you're missing out on! For the best experience ever, I suggest getting it in glorious HD. You won't regret it!

Critics are way too hard on Michael Bay! He has said himself that he just wants to make crowd-pleasing movies, and "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" has done exactly that! This film has made 1.1 BILLION dollars at the box-office; and for a good reason. So what if it doesn't have Oscar-worthy performances, and had a few bad jokes here and there. When the first "Transformers" came out in 2007, we didn't walk out of the theater saying, "Wow! Shia LaBeouf should be nominated for Best Actor!", or "Wow! That was a really tight script!". We walked out saying, "Wow! Those robots beating the crap out of each other was AWESOME!". We are not looking for anything deep with these movies; and therefore, I LOVE these movies. And the fun part about the latest entry in the series is that I actually did find something deep with it. This film had several emotional moments, and I found myself welling up with tears. And the fantastic score by Steve Jablonsky fit in very well with it. I do have some minor complaints about this film though. For one, the new Decepticon, Shockwave, didn't get as much screen time as I had hoped. And I felt that some of the human characters from the previous films, mainly Sam Witwicky's parents and John Turturro's character, Simmons, were forced into the film and had no real buisness being there. And the ending, while satisfactory at best, felt too rushed and didn't give as proper an ending to the characters as I had hoped. Other than that though, as far as entertainment and emotion goes, this was a perfect movie. If; like me, you watch this expecting nothing more than giant robots fighting to the death, then this should be more than satisfying.
