This movie was an absolute delight to watch. It's incredibly well acted and well written and directed. This is a movie that deals with some pretty dark subject matter, including avoiding real crimes to sustain a good public image and so on. It does it with an amazing tone of dark humor, a staple of Martin McDonagh. Frances is heart breaking and amazing at doing her job: acting. Woody Harrelson and Sam Rockwell aregreat at playing the police officers strugglingagainst Frances' character. Everyone does a great job and you will like this movie greatly. I would say more, but this is a film that you should really see without knowing too much, because it will be the best treat ever. So watch it, the watch it again.

I like a good drama, have liked these actors (and still do) but this movie sucked. Would have been fine as a 15 minute treatment, but obviously the premise itself (rape/murder)was not enough to carry the film. Add in character assassination, terminal illness, subsequent suicide, assault (dentist), arson, battery by a cop, another arson, battery to a former cop, reference to alleged racially-tainted-police-brutality, racism, domestic violence, dwarfism bigotry, and, to cap it off, a planned revenge killing. Any one of these is enough conflict for any one movie, but the studio/director/producer/whoever has included them all! And in one little town in a matter of days! I know there is an stumped suspense of disbelief when watching a movie, but come on for a documentary-drama style film, this is way over the top. 2 thumbs down in our house.

The best thing about this movie is acting. Everyone in this movie, gave their best in the term of acting. But when it comes to the most important part of movive, the script, this movie is just bad. If only the police brutality, to minorities, in this movie had shown us that their the real consequnces toware the law enforacement who commited such a horrible crime. But No, there isn't. Also It's really hard for me to feel anything for the mother, Frances's character becasue the whole tregidy happended because the mother had the flight with her own daughter. The mother even said right before her daughter ran away, and fached her worst tregedy, that " I wish you got raped"!!!! And the worst of all, at the end of moive, there's NO conclusion, there's resolutions. The smart script would at least will give you something to make you know that the whole 2 hours hasn't been in vain. The police who commited brutality and the person who committed the crime just move on with their lives. And the mother keeps on living her bitter life. And all the F words that really really unnecessary indeed. This movie is unintellegnce, uninsprire and unforgiving.

Life is not drama, life is not comedy, life is big fat mixed bag of it all and no writer handles that truth as deftly as Martin Mcdonagh. The test of a good witer, in my opinion, is the ability to make you get choked up in one moment and in the next make you snort with laughter. This movie is a beautiful example of that skill. I was really looking forward to this movie and not only did it not disapoint but it greatly exceeded my expectations. Every role from the smallest to the leads is perfectly played, the writing is perfection, the story surprises you and does not fall in to anything close to cliches or obvious routes; I could not have loved it more. The best proof of a great movie is that I thought about it and wanted to talk about it to anyone I could find for the next 24 hours. The best.

Wasn’t really funny, plot was slow and unbelievable in a that would never happen sense, and the movie tried to be to many genres. RT rating is on crack ....as usual
