3 Stooges funny as the original

If you grew up with the stooges and still think they are funny, then you will enjoy this movie. It had a lot of the same gags, and even some new ones (Like Sister Kate Upton). If you look closely you will see little tips of the hat out to the originial Stooges such as the name of the movie they want to make at the end, the naming of Ted (As in Ted Healy). It was funny like the original, and the actors are very good at impersonating their counterparts. I didnt even recognize Sean Hayes. There was actually a lot more of Larry than in the original shorts. Sure some of the writing was a bit off, but they were attempting to bring back the original slap stick humor that sometimes don't work in this day an age. But good job on putting the Jersey Shore into it. Overall if you liked the original shorts, watch this movie, if you outgrew the Stooges a long time ago, then don't bother seeing this, you will just thnk it is stupid.

A FUN SLAPSTICK TRIBUTE TO THE STOOGES!

If you're planning on watching "The Three Stooges" just to criticize every little detail about it, then you're entirely missing the point. It's meant to be a well-intentioned tribute to the early to mid-20th century film shorts starring the comedic trio we all know today, and in that respect, the movie largely succeeds. The storyline is distinctly unique in that it's split up into three different acts connected by an interweaving plot. We follow Larry, Curly and Moe as they set out to save their childhood home, an orphanage run by nuns. Along the way, the bumbling trio (Sean Hayes, Will Sasso, and Chris Diamantopoulos) become embroiled in an oddball murder scheme and even stumble into starring in a wildly successful reality TV show. From start to finish, this film had me laughing my butt off, although a bit inconsistently. Sure, the gags were mostly crass and juvenile, but they were also well-executed thanks to a supremely talented ensemble cast. Jane Lynch and Larry David were hands-down hysterical playing a couple of stern nuns, and Sofia Vergara was fun to watch as the villain, but in the end, it was the Stooges who undoubtedly stole the show. It's incredible how the actors who played them were amazingly committed to their characters the whole time. Whether it was their zany dialogue or their hilarious slapstick-filled antics, they were consistently entertaining to watch whenever they were on screen. Overall, I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a great time watching "The Three Stooges". Even though some of the jokes were hit-or-miss and the script could've been better written, the cast easily made up for those flaws with their excellent comedic timing and reliably strong chemistry. On another note, I should probably mention that some of the scenes in this film may be slightly inappropriate for young kids to see, so it might be best to consider watching it as a family beforehand. Nonetheless, it's still well worth seeing, even if you've never seen any of the classic shorts. There's just no better way to start out with physical comedy than with the Stooges!

Awesome!!

Obviously it wasn't the original stooges, I am a die hard stooge fan, and I was impressed with this movie I though they did an awesome job of bringing back the slap stick comedy. I laughed out loud the entire time!

loved it

Not everyone will appreciate it, but i loved it. I saw it twice in the theatre. Second time I brought my kids.

A fun movie-why the downer comments?

I am not sure why there was a lot of negativity in the reviews concerning this movie. While it wasn't perfect and had its slower moments, overall it was a pretty darn good tribute to the Stooges. The gags weren't completely lifted from their movies but one can easily spot many of the famous skits redone with a contemporary feel. There is even some subtle elements like filming some bits in the style of the 30's and 40's when the group was in their heyday. Watch this movie with the knowledge that you are watching an homage to a great act. There's no larger moral or political point to bog things down. It's fun. Sometimes a movie just needs to be fun and entertaining and this certainly qualifies. Watching this makes me wonder if the Farrelly Brothers would attempt a Marx Brothers tribute movie. I think they could pull it off..
