The Tax Collector
David (Bobby Soto) and Creeper (Shia LaBeouf), are ‘tax collectors’ for the crime lord Wizard, collecting his cut from the profits of local gangs’ illicit dealings. But when Wizard’s old rival returns to Los Angeles from Mexico, the business is upended, and David finds himself desperate to protect what matters more to him than anything else: his family.

Shia LaBeof was captivating and most the cast was believable. But I felt the story was far fetched, predictable and bordering on mediocre. Aside from the Shia LaBeof performance, 'The Tac Collector' wa not a memorable movie experience.

Gonna say the same thing i told my friends after i watched the movie...it wasn’t good but it wasn’t terrible either. The movie had alot of potential,good story,decent cast the whole 9 but it just came off as a rushed movie. Where it fell flat the most in my opinion was Shia LaBeouf’s character. He did surprisingly well in his role BUT i feel like producers did the character a disservice by rushing the movie and only letting it be a hour and a half. Think about a VERY watered down version of Alejandro from sicario. The entire movie just felt flat. Just imagine eating a good meal and thinkin “man this could’ve been great if they cooked it a bit longer and added a pinch of salt”

I wanted to like this movie so badly, but alas, I couldn’t! Let’s just go out the gate and say that Shia was portrayed in the trailers to be the main character; he wasn’t, and that was upsetting! The actor that was actually the main character, needs to get better at acting for his roles; he moves very robotic and you can tell his emotions are forced. George Lopez is not meant to be a gangster in his roles and overall the movie was very choppy! It had no real flow, it was just cut and paste of the film that was recorded. I feel like if there was more funding for this movie and they didn’t force it to come out so quickly (thanks COVID) this movie would’ve been so much better! Overall, I was disappointed.
