Words can't describe perfection.

To every single one of the people involved in making this film, I have only one thing to say, and that is you are BRILLIANT!!! First of all, the acting is amazing. Hugh, Scarlett, and Christian all pulled a perfect performance as well as every other actor. Believable? Nothing compares... Then I can't even begin to describe the fantastic plot. The beginning is really confusing, but every scene provides a piece of the puzzle. It's incredible! I felt like I got a two for one: a great movie, and a mystery to solve. Finally, the setting and special effects just make the whole movie crisp and complete. Brilliant. So, if you love mysteries, great acting, action, a fantastic plot, amazing special effects, and an overall perfect movie, you have have HAVE to get this movie. If you don't, you're either... A) crazy or B) an alien. But, I honestly don't care, so buy this movie anyway and dare try an tell me that it's bad.

Like Nothing You've Ever Seen, or Haven't Seen

Stir up the best parts of Inside Man, The Usual Suspects, and The Illusionist. What do you get exactly? If you're lucky, you get something close to The Prestige. The Prestige is hands down Nolans best work to date (Yes, that includes Batman Begins). If the allstar cast of Jackman, Bale, Caine, Bowie, Perabo, and Johansson isn't enough, The story is exellent and unique. The Short Version: Two Magician Friends (Jackman and Bale) become rivals after A mishap between Bale and Jackman's Wife (Perabo). They use people surrounding them (Caine, Johansson, and Bowie) to discover each others secrets and methods of magic. Pros: - Casting in this film is very well done - There are no irrelivant parts - It is not too long or too short (length wise) - Story is Unique and is well written Cons: - Audio Problems with some scenes - Confusing at parts

the prestige

The Prestige was one of the best movies of 2006 because of one thing...emotional theme. The entire film could almost be called a character study of these people who become completely obsessed with revenge and lust of one another's power. There's a lot of praise going around for the acting but I felt that Hugh Jackman should get the MVP. I never really saw him actually act well, but I was shocked when I found myself really getting into his character. (The next week after this was released he also came out with The Fountain in which he acted superbly again.) And the cinematography was excellent, not perfect, though. The interesting thing was that a lot of the shots kind of fit the magical themes, wether they decieve the viewer with forced perspective or dramatic lighting. And the story was perfecct, almost more on the literary storytelling side of the bar, rather than "realistic" cinema. The Prestige is a must see! It forces you to think and pay attention, which is a relief enough compared to most of the "feed the audience" films of modern Hollywood.

The Prestige

This film is absolutely BRILLIANT and AMAZING. I saw it in theaters I almost forgot to breathe at some points. The plot is completely orginal, the acting is marvelous, and the film itslef is absolutely mind-blowing. The plot twists are exicting and the ending is completely astonishing. I would've bought this film if it had been FIFTY dollars. It is most definetly worth your money.
