Executive producer Nas presents this vivid inner-city saga set amidst Cleveland's hip-hop underground. Teenage buddies Cisco (Jorge Lendeborg Jr.), Junior (Moises Arias), Boobie (Ezri Walker), and Patty Cake (Rafi Gavron) shrug off school to practice skateboarding, which they hope will be their ticket to a better life. In the meantime, they steal cars to finance their dream. But when they get mixed up in a drug deal and cross a ruthless crime queen-pin (Linda Emond), they put their friendship—and lives—on the line. Set to a choice hip-hop soundtrack and featuring an impressive ensemble cast that includes The Wire's Michael K. Williams, Erykah Badu, and rapper Machine Gun Kelly, The Land crackles with the energy and poetry of the streets.

Honest and Anxious

This movie does a great job of showing how the nievete of youth can cause disastourous consequences for the childeren and their extended families. The story plays out in an honest way that causes the audience to share in the anxiety of the characters.

Moving and Raw

This film is unapologetically raw, in the sense it portrays the city of Cleveland in a most authentic fashion. As an LA resident by way of the Land, I am all to familiar with the plight the fellas face in this film. The decisions placed before the youth of Cleveland may come off as a staunch reality, but they are realities nevertheless. Joy, pain, tears, smiles, memories--good and bad--it all resonates watching this film. This story is our story, during our year--the year of the Cavalier! Thank you Steven!
