Enjoyable but not great

Really enjoyed the setting and the tone of these last 2 Scream movies. I gave it 4 stars, despite my criticism. I really enjoy Slasher movies like this because it can feel real, but hate when movies get too inclusive about who survives. I just want to see an awesome horror movie. - Slightly Underwhelmed by the ending/killer(s) in this one. - Frustrated by too many survivors, and the lack of injury. The train scene for example, especially when you think back to it after the movie. - I get the final girl thing, but how many do you need? Love the two main girls, and understand Neve. But Why are the guys always getting the chopping block in horror movies?

Lackluster ending

The film is pretty funny and they utilized the NY setting better than most horror flicks. Unfortunately, it also continues Scream 2022’s trend of lackluster Ghostface identities and motive. By the time they revealed who the Ghostface was/were, I was rolling my eyes. It’s also doing a of critique regarding modern remakes/reboots while making a lot of the same mistakes and clichés it’s criticizing. Well, isn’t that convenient? Get Scream away from these writer/directors.

Yikes.

This installment was exceedingly more disappointing than 4 or 5. The only highlight of the entire 2-hour film was Gale's phone call. The actors had little energy, and everything seemed very forced, especially during that train wreck of an ending. Also, they basically tell you who the killers are within the first half of the movie, which was hella infuriating. Long review short, this storyline was another bore, and I saw nothing that justified Neve’s absence. Fingers crossed for a better 7th installment and Neve making a big comeback.

Ridiculous

Had potential, just utterly ridiculous
