Sheeba the god of death

Tony Gillroy delivers and excellent intelligent thriller and the viewer gets a valuable and realistic insight in the power base of a big corporate. Huge stakes, personal gain, the price for power and foul play: It's all in here. The performances of George Clooney, Tilda Swinton and Tom Wilkinson are top notch. There are some things this film is not. It's not an action film if you expect that, it will seem very slow. No escapism, but... it's real, very real.

One of the best films of 2007.

Written and directed by Tony Gilroy, who wrote the screenplays for all of the Bourne films, Michael Clayton is a sharp, understated thriller. Superb acting by Tom Wilkinson and Clooney and of course it's always fun to see Sydney Pollack turn up. The final shot is a perfect end to the film and is one that I'll watch many times over. To give you an idea of my taste, I have this film listed as the fourth best film of the year behind: No Country, There Will Be Blood and The Assassination of Jesse James. Highly Recommended.

Great Acting, Good Story and great conclusion!

So I am giving this five stars for several reasons. First, I'll admit. I never really liked George Clooney, but this film in my opinion was one of his stronger roles. In addition, I really liked the cinematography of the film, it was very dark and seductive. As for the story, it was interestingly woven together, but you have to pay attention to it. If you miss something, it may leave you confused. In addition, its the kind of story that has several twists and turns. However, if your the kind of person who likes "action intensive movies" that have simpler stories and more action, you may not like this. However, its the kind of story that is sort of confusing, but is really interesting in the end. I wouldn't miss this!

Worthy to Rent! You won't be disappointed!

I was weary to rent this movie as I had heard great things and bad things... but I was surprised by this movie. It's gripping at times, calmer at others, but definitely a great movie... a theme of "David vs Goliath" and it reminds you what corporations in this world can really do in regards to damage. Wow.

A+

I would classify this as a thriller, and a mighty good one at that!
