Man On a Ledge
In the film critics call "a white-knuckle action thriller," ex-cop Nick Cassidy (Sam Worthington, Avatar & Clash of the Titans) escapes from prison to plan the ultimate heist: steal a $40 million diamond from cutthroat businessman David Englander (Ed Harris), and in the process prove his innocence. From the ledge of the famous Roosevelt Hotel, with the whole world watching, Cassidy plays a clever game of cat & mouse with the NYPD while his dutiful brother Joey (Jamie Bell) works against the clock to extract the diamond and clear his brother’s name.

A CONTRIVED THRILLER WITH SOME GOOD ACTION @Broken Headphones
I watched "Man on a Ledge" on a plane ride back home to pass the time, so I had moderately low expectations in mind. And although the film ended up being slightly better than I thought it would be, I admit it could've been more improved in a lot of areas. The acting was uninspired, the characters were bland, the screenplay was monotonous and the storyline was entirely predictable, but that's not to say it was all bad. The score by Henry Jackman matched the tension of the movie surprisingly well, and the fast-paced chase sequences were full of enough action and suspense to keep me glued to my seat. Eventually, I went along with the ridiculously convoluted premise and simply enjoyed the flick for all that it had to offer. Sure, it wasn't the most intelligent or gripping thriller out there, but it was still entertaining nonetheless. I mean, you seriously can't go into a Sam Worthington film expecting to see a smart, thought-provoking tour de force. In any case, would I recommend purchasing "Man on a Ledge"? Sure, but only if you don't mind the usual stilted acting, tired movie clichés and predictable plot devices you'd find in most mainstream thrillers. At the very least, I'd suggest renting it simply for its exciting, high-adrenaline action scenes.

But I loved it! It's not just a man on a ledge the whole movie which was a nice suprise.. haha. It's a good movie to just sit back and relax to- you don't have to think or analyze the film. Grab some popcorn and a blanket and make it movie night!

Astoundingly outstanding, ladies and gentlemen. Re-invents into a fresh and heart-pounding action film that does not require a destructive firefight, but an interesting, complex plot to build off on as a firm foundation for this particularly exemplary film.
