How It Ends

Director: Daryl Wein & Zoe Lister-Jones
Release Date:

In this feel good apocalyptic comedy, freewheeling Liza (Zoe Lister-Jones) scores an invite to one last wild party before the world ends. But making it there won’t be easy, after her car is stolen, and the clock is ticking on her plan to tie up loose ends with friends and family. Accompanied by her younger self (Cailee Spaeny), Liza embarks on a hilarious journey across Los Angeles, running into an eclectic cast of characters.

Best Family-Style-Pandemic-Production Yet

I’ve really liked both other films I’ve seen by Zoe and Daryl, Breaking Upwards (played at a festival alongside my directorial debut film, and I’m glad it won over my own movie) and I thought Band-Aid was really solid too...this one is my favorite. I have a lot of friends whom started shooting a tiny home-grown indie during the pandemic...I’ve loaned and rented out my camera gear to a few of them. This one is by far the best of those films I’ve seen thus far. I know how hard it is to make a film this way with a crew of three or four people. This makes excellent use of the apocalyptic streets in Los Angeles at the time (in my own neighborhood)...a lot of my friends and collaborators got passion projects started at the top of the pandemic...and a few weeks later, those projects were abandoned and for personal reasons those friends were seen on Instagram eating lasagna in the bathtub. Personally, I took the time to completely recut and trim 45 minutes out of my film that was originally scheduled for release in the spring of 2020...the only thing I’d have done a little differently was maybe gone a little less civilized at times with the people passing by...Whitney Cummings role was excellent, her leopard print outfit would have been all body paint and Liza’s boyfriend would have not only been apologizing for philandering with so many woman...but dodging bricks and cross bow bolt’s too. But that’s just me. Overall, a great little indie about the value of cultivating forgiveness for all our tragically flawed life’s stitched together with good intentions. No small feet getting a small indie of this scope on its feet.

Not good at all!

This movie is not entertaining at all. Way to absurd. Please save your money, I feel like I just set a 10 dollar bill on fire.

Date Night Movie

If you are a bleeding heart liberal like my wife and I and in no way think that the UFC should be involved in some sort of Hollywood takeover, you’ll love this movie. It’s got a great cast, unique story, and really beautiful emotions shown throughout. Is it smug? Sure… kinda. Who cares? Good movie.

Such a Moving movie!!!

I was impressed with it story telling and how it played out but Zoe Lister-Jones is great here same with the supporting cast with plenty of good laughs and heartfelt messages in which I recommend how it ends cus this movie is worth it at the end of the day. Definite must buy!!!!!!!!

Private enterprise needs to step in and take over

Some non politically motivated (like the ufc) large private company needs to just take over, drop these California actors and just start all over with a new slate to rebuild the movie Industry
