THE SHAPE RETURNS

This movie was good. It captured the essence of the original while still having a new kind of uniqueness. And yeah, this movie was brutal. I mean brain splattering, blood gushing brutal. Way more violent than the first, but that is what made it scary. It really brings you into the emotions of Laurie Strode and her life, and how Halloween night, 40 years ago effected her. Now, when they wanted to put Easter eggs from the original, they really pushed it so much that I was like, I get it and so you can stop it now. But overall this movie is sick, and that’s what a slasher movie should be. Awesome and amazing. This is a great return of evil. THE SHAPE RETURNS!

So much potential.....so many missed opportunities

They had so many opportunties to make this an amazing movie and fell short each time. The character of Michael Myers is certainly the best on screen portrayal since pt. 2....but over all the movie just fell flat. It isn't a horrible movie (like 6 or Ressurection) but it just doesn't capitalize on the potential it had. I really hope they let this be the final installment in this franchise.....but I know the Hollywood trash factory.....they will continue to milk a once great story until there is nothing left but ash. If you are a die hard fan....check it out.....otherwise you aren't missing a thing if you don't view it.

Halloween (2018)

This film was amazing. I held onto every moment. Best horror film in many years, really stuck to the original formula. Reflects the original very well. They did a great job, highly recommended. Can’t wait to purchase.

How a great horror movie should be!

I saw the movie last night and it was everything a horror movie should be. The gore, while definitely present, was not over the top and was used only to convey the ferocity of Michael’s determination. I love the direction they’ve taken by omitting all the sequels and removing the “lore” that Laurie is Michael’s sister. The fact that Michael has no rhyme or reason, that random senseless killing is his only motivation, is truly terrifying. Jamie Lee Curtis’ is just awesome. Period. Laurie Strode is an icon and now feels fully realized. Also, the little boy who is the “2018 Tommy Doyle” steals the show, brining much humor to an otherwise heavy film. I was skeptical when I heard Danny McBride was making Halloween but he and David Gordon Green pulled off something so amazing in bringing the same feel of John Carpenter’s 1978 masterpiece to a modern-day Haddonfield. It felt like I was truly watching a continuation of what happened 40 years ago. Anxiously awaiting my pre-order to become available so I can experience this again.

Great horror film

This is a great entry into the franchise, it takes the entire story into a totally different and new direction. It’s a reboot/direct sequel to the original film that ignores every sequel except the original. It has great call backs to the sequels though - that die hard Halloween fans will notice. It’s a movie that someone who has never seen any of the other films can watch and enjoy, while still being made for the fans.
