Blaze
BLAZE is inspired by the life of Blaze Foley, the unsung songwriting legend of the Texas outlaw music movement that spawned the likes of Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson. The film weaves together three different periods of time, braiding re-imagined versions of Blaze’s past, present and future. The different strands explore his love affair with Sybil Rosen; his last, dark night on earth; and the impact of his songs and his death had on his fans, friends, and foes. The braided storyline terminates in a bittersweet ending that acknowledges Blaze’s profound highs and lows, as well as the impressions he made on the people who shared his journey.
Honest Portrayal of a Brilliant simple songwriter @LydiaSmile
I loved this film and was lucky enough to catch it in a local theater by happenstance. I left the theater impacted by the music, honesty and over all tone and well, sadness. The film has a roughness to it that is rounded out by the lovely authenticity that Ethan Hawk is able to evoke in the characters who portray these quirky subjects. BLAZE is a love story with a heart wrenching portrayal of an artist who’s sadness comes with his success. Choosing to leave the magical life of the tree house which inspired much of Foley’s poetic music was hard to take. This film is a cathartic ride. I can not wait to share this film with anyone who likes great music and or authentic film making. I Immediately we bought the soundtrack and have looked further into the music and life of Blaze Foley. Thank you Ethan Hawke for sharing this story.
Why do you have this as a Pre-Order for over a month @CGC_Consultant
This is not a review about the movie, it is more of a disappointment in iTunes or the person that puts these movies up two or three months before you can order the movie. Not sure why you take this approach, but if the movie is going to take longer than a couple of weeks for it to show up in iTunes, then you should not have this listed as a Pre-Order. Stop doing this. Thank you.
