YES! YES! YES!

THIS is how you bring back Babylon 5!!! Thank you JMS, didn’t realize how much I’d missed this world and it’s characters. The animation is exceptional, the music is sweeping and the returning and new cast members bring their A-game, but most importantly the story and dialogue are top notch, which is what always mattered in B5. Can’t wait for the next installment! Would love the see this as a regular series again in this format, if possible!

Babylon 5 is back in business

Excellent movie. Babylon 5‘s the Road Home is probably the best reboot of a franchise in the past 10 years (I’d make the case since Casino Royale). Yeah it’s animated, but half the OG cast has since past and the rest of them have aged drastically. So it honestly works. It doesn’t introduce a spunky younger generation taking up the torch. It doesn’t apologize for being made X number of years ago. It doesn’t create new characters for “modern audiences”. It doesn’t try to shove any modern message down your throat. It also doesn’t try to wrap up the legacy of the franchise. It tells a great/ timeless story of a husband and wife trying to find one another despite the multiverse. I hope they do more B5 like this and the industry takes note. PS: I watched it with people that had never seen the 90s show and they both enjoyed it/ weren’t lost in the lore.

Great way to bring B5 back

I love this show and this animated movie was the best way to tell this story since the actors are older and half the cast isn’t alive anymore. JMS wrote it and it shows. Excellently done with great voice acting and animation. If you are a B5 fan then this is a must see.

Just OK

I really have mixed feelings about this. J. Michael Straczynski once again gives us some GREAT, fantastically written philosophical sci-fi...incredibly deep themes with the ultimate question being "why?" But I will use "why" for my full review. WHY they didn't they computer animate the ships like they did in the series is one of my first whys. Those templates have to exists somewhere...overlaid with the animated characters in this, that would have looked really cool. WHY did it end the way it did in an alternate universe? Is this an attempt to reboot the show from that point of view (admittedly I would NOT like this animated format if they do). WHY wasn't Christopher Franke used for the soundtrack...or at least portions of some of the original/actual music cues? His music was truly the soul of the original series and without him this lacked. WHY didn't they do a better job in finding voice actors? Granted, Andreas Katsulas' voice was truly unique and he was such a talented actor...but the voice they picked for G'kar wasn't even close. The guy who voiced Garibaldi was hit and miss. Plus Delenn's cadence wasn't right. HOWEVER...the actor who played Sinclair, had me fooled! I thought they pulled actual audio from the late Michael O'Hare! Was it cool to go back to B5 for an hour, yes...would it be great to have a new live action series, yes, but with a whole new cast and new characters. This animated episode was just OK for me so I hope they don't continue with it...but the classic series will always be one of my favorites - so ahead of its time!

B5 Animated

Very good, I like to see many more, I miss B5 immensely! Also, I like to see a continuation of Crusade or reboot.
