Annie (2014)
Academy Award® nominee Quvenzhané Wallis (Best Actress, Beasts of the Southern Wild, 2012) stars as Annie, a young, happy foster kid who’s also tough enough to make her way on the streets of New York. But everything’s about to change when the hard-nosed tycoon and New York mayoral candidate Will Stacks (Jamie Foxx) makes a thinly-veiled campaign move and takes her in. Stacks believes he’s her guardian angel, but Annie’s self-assured nature and bright, sun-will-come-out-tomorrow outlook on life just might mean it’s the other way around.
If people would stop with the hipster garbage. @KalosChosen
What kills me about reviews these days is that it's all about "oh my god the original was much better". Calm down. This wasn't meant to be a frame by frame remake, it was meant to take a story and throw a different take on it- like every Cinderella style movie ever. If you don't like it, you don't have to watch it, but take it for what it is. Is it a masterpiece? Certainly no, but, it's fun. It's charming, and, it gives it a new take instead of having another carbon copy of an already done movie. Worth the watch.
If you're gonna remake a classic, have some respect... @Keep Seeking Truth
Now let me start by saying, I love the original “Annie” musical… Yet, with this remake, every bit of charm has been pulverized out of it. This version is an awkward (at best) effort to drag it into the modern social-media age… Even if I put aside the grating performances by the actors, the awkward direction, visually unpleasant and the haphazard development of story, make this movie 100% unbearable. The point is, if you’re a fan of the original, don't waste your time. This toxic mess will soon be forgotten… most likely tomorrow, when the sun comes out.
Why? @Rockman0007
Another money grab by a movie studio. Why buy this one when the originals better. But this is politically correct because there's an African American girl playing Annie. What a marshmallow society we've become. Don't support this version Thank you
TERRIBLE @Prophet Amos
Please leave the classics alone. Stop trying to re-make older movies, come up with new ideas, if you can.
Boo @Cavitt01
This movie gave me a headache
