Incredible Cult Classic

Just don't bring the kids--graphic sexuality. Other than that, it's an excellent murder mystery set against R-rated underground 70's gay New York. Really captures the end of the gay 70's era, just before AIDS hit the major cities. It's a VERY unflattering portrait of a highly visible minority within the gay movement of the time, quite provacative, for the open mind. In the end, it's a wonderful, very dark Hollywood movie. Great soundtrack and acting. A classic--not to be missed by the serious film buff.

Scariest Movie

One of the scariest movies ever! This movie will shock you and keep you on the edge of your seat. I saw this movie 20 years ago and i remember it like i saw it yesterday. This movie shows why AL Pacino is one of the greats.

Another Masterpiece from William Friedkin ?????

William Friedkin always goes right to the core. Just like he did with the the exorcist. This was set in the 70s at the heart of the gay club scene and in the meat packing district in NYC. Which is not like it is today, nor was acceptance. Al Pacino is brilliant in this movie. If you lived through the era and actually been to those places it makes more of an impact on you. This is a true masterpiece.? RIP William Friedkin ??

aweful fim

they way they depict gay men in this film just shows how far we've come in our understanding of people who like the same sex, even pacino cant save this movie. Just unwatchable.
