The Boys In the Band

Director: William Friedkin
Release Date:

Director William Friedkin (The French Connection, The Exorcist) and playwright Mart Crowley serve up the acclaimed, groundbreaking film adapted from Crowley’s hallmark off-Broadway play – a witty, perceptive and devastating look at the personal agendas and suppressed revelations swirling among a group of gay men in Manhattan. Harold (Leonard Frey) is celebrating a birthday, and his friend Michael (Kenneth Nelson) has drafted some friends to help commemorate the event. As the evening progresses, the alcohol flows, knives come out, and dormant and unspoken emotions are unleashed.

Another William Friedkin classic! ?????

Very much ahead of its time. Great acting and superb directing. William Friedkin was never afraid of subject matters. RIP ?? to a brilliant director. ?

Great movie! ?❤️ Intense but iconic!

Love it! ? P.S. I saw the recent play on Broadway (Stellar!) & its showing on Netflix. All are amazing! ??❤️

Finally on iTunes! A CLASSIC!

William Friedkin's brilliant direction of Mart Crowley's ground breaking play (starring most of the original Broadway cast). This film is amazing and casts a long shadow over the inferior Netflix remake. Cope with some ice, put on a fresh sweater (the one on the bathroom floor is vicuna) and enjoy!
