George and Serena Pemberton (Academy Award® nominee Bradley Cooper and Academy Award® winner Jennifer Lawrence), love-struck newlyweds, begin to build a timber empire. This movie could have been so much better. The screenwriter who adapted the script from the book did an awful job of developing the characters and the complexities of their relationships. How can you have a story about a couple’s undying love for each other, and then spend only 30 seconds on the courtship? I could have gotten up to take a pee before Cooper's/Lawrence’s characters met, and when I got back to the couch, they’d already be married. Production value is good, but i think the director assumed the audience would put too many pieces together and missed the mark. Great cast though.

From the fake fire in the fire place, to the lousy acting, this was a total wast of time. There was no academy award winning acting in this piece of crap movie. I agree with the critics. This movie was Rotten.

I don’t really get the critic rating on this film - Bradley and Jennifer are great and have a lot of romantic chemistry. It’s a really beautiful film - check it out!
