The current day assault on democracy did not begin with Trumpism. It did not begin with the Tea Party. It did not begin with the Moral Majority. It did not even begin in this century. The current day assault on democracy began with the White Supremacy Movement in the 1960s as part of a shrewd, calculated, and well executed plan that became cloaked as a religious movement. Today, those white supremacists and their heirs are known as Christian Nationalists. Bad Faith is their story.

I watched this and it's another attempt at the black community blaming their lack of morals on whites. Stop committing crimes. Fathers stop leaving your sons and daughters. Stop having 27 kids to get more government money. Stop being a victim mentality all the time. Think ahead, outside the box, for more than 3 seconds. If you shoot that liquor store guy, the police will be chasing you in 2 minutes. Use your heads.

If you’ve ever wondered how so-called Christians and the GOP can back someone like Trump, this documentary is very illuminating. It also covers January 6th insurrection, dominionism, radicalization, Calvinism and points to the seeds planted by moral majority architect Paul Weyrich and even the shady preachers of the Old Time Gospel Hour. It’s all here and quite well done… and admittedly a little terrifying. I rented it and watched it twice.
